Steps for Building a Custom Home on Your Land
Step 1: Pre-Construction
Contract
Soil test from property (determines proper foundation)
Boundary survey (determines size and boundaries of the lot)
Site plan (determines the exact location where the home will sit on the property)
Final decisions made on architectural plans
Foundation and frame engineering
Septic design (if applicable)
Building permit
HOA/ACC submittal/approval
Step 2: Construction
Temporary electricity
Lot preparation/clearing
Building pad laid and tested (for compaction in preparation for foundation)
Water: Tap/Well
Forms set for the foundation
Sewer pipes added
Beams, barriers, post-tension, and rebar
Final forms
Inspection
Concrete is poured
Framing
Sheeting, siding, walls, windows, and exterior doors
Roof decking, shingles
